June Ministry Update: Serving in Many Ways
As we stepped into June, we found ourselves once again surrounded by opportunities to serve, minister, and build—both spiritually and practically.
Our work on the non-profit documentation for Sitio Shalom Ministries has continued. These efforts, while not always visible, are essential for building a solid foundation for the ministry’s future and expanding our capacity to serve more effectively.
This month, we attended another funeral and were honored to minister to the grieving family. Times of loss are often open doors for compassion, prayer, and hope—and we count it a privilege to walk alongside those in need during those sacred moments.
We also had the joy of hosting a single woman in full-time missions. She needed a place of rest and support, and we were thankful to be able to meet some of her needs during her time with us.
One of the more impactful moments this month came when we visited a man in the hospital. We were able to share the plan of salvation with him and minister to his daughter, a believer who was also in need of encouragement and strength. We trust that God's Word will not return void.
Our weekly Bible Study in English continues to be a rich time of fellowship and spiritual growth. We're grateful for those who attend regularly and for the way the Lord is using this study to strengthen hearts.
In ministry development, we're excited to share that two new Board members have joined the Sitio Shalom Ministries Board. Their passion and insight will be a blessing as we continue to grow and serve.
We also spent a meaningful day with a bi-vocational pastor, working on the property and talking through the unique struggles of balancing ministry with secular employment. These conversations matter, and we were reminded once again how important encouragement is to those serving on the front lines.
Behind-the-Scenes Progress
While much of our focus is on ministry, there have also been some important behind-the-scenes updates this month:
- We contracted an architect to design a new kitchen for the ministry apartment—something that will be a great resource for future guests and residents.
- A survey company has begun work to professionally map out the property, an important step in planning and development.
- We began replacing the ceiling in the living quarters—a much-needed improvement.
- We also contracted a plumber to repair a fractured pipe in the ministry apartment, ensuring that everything remains functional and safe.
As we look back on June, we are reminded that ministry is often made up of many small, faithful steps. Whether it's building infrastructure, comforting the grieving, teaching the Word, or simply listening to someone’s story—each moment is part of the greater mission.
Thank you for praying for us, supporting us, and walking this journey together.
With gratitude,
Jim & Guta
