May was a full and fruitful month for Guta and me. We had the opportunity to travel to the United States, where we were blessed to accomplish so much in a short amount of time.

One of the highlights of our trip was the chance to share a ministry report at Trinity Baptist Church. It was a joy to reconnect, update the congregation on all that God is doing in Brazil, and express our gratitude for their ongoing support and prayers.

We also received valuable training from Shepherds Rest Ministry in St. Augustine, Florida. The experience was refreshing and inspiring, equipping us with practical tools and fresh vision to bring back to our work in Brazil.

In the midst of everything, I (Jim) was unexpectedly called for jury duty! Thankfully, I was excused, which allowed us to stay focused on the purpose of our trip.

Another major blessing was the time we spent with family and friends. These moments of rest and reconnection are rare and precious, and they reminded us of the importance of community and encouragement—both of which are vital in ministry.

We returned to Brazil with full hearts and renewed purpose. In fact, within just one hour of arriving home, we were called upon to minister. Our dear neighbor Nona, who was 96 years old, passed away shortly after Guta got home. We were able to attend her funeral and minister to the grieving family, a reminder that even in sorrow, God opens doors for compassion and comfort.

“Even in sorrow, God opens doors for compassion and comfort.”

Later in the month, we welcomed a couple serving in full-time ministry who came to spend the day with us. Their mission board is transitioning them to a new area, and we ask that you keep them in your prayers as they navigate this season of change and new direction.

We are grateful for all that May brought—travel, growth, connection, and opportunities to serve. Thank you for walking this journey with us.

With love and gratitude,

Jim & Guta
